Alpha Platforms in New York City has been a customer of RUTHMANN Reachmaster, our US subsidiary, for many years. The New York rental company uses numerous RUTHMANN machines to maintain wind turbines, among other things.  <\/p>\n\n<p>With one of the RUTHMANN STEIGER\u00ae T 295 A<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ruthmannreachmaster.com\/ruthmann\/ruthmann-t-295a\/\"> <\/a>(European designation STEIGER\u00ae T 900 HF) experienced a fault at irregular intervals during use. The local service department was called in to get to the bottom of the problem and rectify it. Unfortunately, this was not successful for the time being, as the machine continued to function perfectly and the fault could not be reproduced or recurred.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The colleague from the service department left again and drove to the next customer. However, he had seen from the machine documentation in the system that the STEIGER\u00ae was already equipped with the brand new RUTHMANN Technology Connect (RTC) and that the machine data had long since been recorded online in the cloud for testing purposes. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Trial by fire for the new RTC  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Back at the plant, he phoned the head of the RTC project in Gescher Hochmoor to explain the problem and enquire about the possibilities of the system, which was still in a beta phase at the time. The Alpha Platforms machine had already been fully recorded by the system and so the colleagues from the service department in Gescher were able to take a look at the logged data. All sensor values are logged there and so they were able to find the cause relatively quickly with the help of the times at which the error had occurred.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"924\" height=\"693\" src=\"http:\/\/ruthmann.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Steiger-T-295-A-Korb.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1914\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ruthmann.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Steiger-T-295-A-Korb.jpg 924w, https:\/\/ruthmann.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Steiger-T-295-A-Korb-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ruthmann.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Steiger-T-295-A-Korb-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p><strong>Spare parts delivery by &#8220;airmail&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>RUTHMANN decided to send a service technician to New York with the spare part so that Alpha Platforms would quickly have a 100% operational truck-mounted platform available again, and because the defective part was not in stock at the warehouse in the USA. A few hours later, the required spare part, a relatively small valve, was sent across the pond to New York. There, the colleague was picked up at the airport and taken directly to the RUTHMANN STEIGER\u00ae, where an employee was already waiting for him with tools. The rest was routine: the valve is easily accessible on the telescope and could be replaced within a very short time. During the subsequent test run, no further errors occurred either on site or in the RTC log and the machine was put back into service on the same day. As the defective component is considered to be absolutely reliable and had not shown any abnormalities in the past, the colleague took it back to the factory in Gescher for further examination, where it was thoroughly checked.     <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our STEIGER\u00aes are in use all over the world, in Europe, Asia and also in the USA.
