Join Rick Dyson, all-electric equipment sales manager for VERSALIFT in the UK, as he takes the new all-electric VERSALIFT VTL to the APSE Show in Aviemore.<\/p>\n\n

After completing the 155-mile (249.4 km) journey from Kettering to Bristol, Rick Dyson was ready to take on the 400-mile (643.7 km) journey from Derbyshire to Aviemore in Scotland. At an altitude of up to 400 meters, Rick only had to stop four times en route to recharge, proving the vehicle’s impressive capabilities in the ultimate test: Driving at different altitudes through one of the most remote areas of the UK! <\/p>\n\n

The journey began at Perry’s Ford, Chesterfield, where the VTL was charged overnight and set off on its adventure with a 90% charge.<\/p>\n\n

Day 1<\/h2>\n\n

On the first day, I drove to Booth’s Supermarket in Ripon, which is 45 miles (72.4 km) from Perry’s Ford. After a 30-minute fast charge, which cost \u00a330 (\u20ac34.88), the VTL was at 91% charge. This increased the range by 50 miles (80.5 km) – so I was ready to go. <\/p>\n\n

After driving 86 miles (138.4 km), I stopped at the Southwaite Northbound service station for 1 hour and 10 minutes. I filled up to 94% for \u00a345 (\u20ac52.32). <\/p>\n\n

From Southwaite, I continued on to Abington Services, which is 66.5 miles (107 km) away. I arrived there with 22 miles (35.4 km) of charge remaining. Here I stopped for a 40-minute fast charge to 81%, which cost \u00a341 (\u20ac47.67). The next stop was planned in Glasgow to spend the night. <\/p>\n\n

After a journey of 40 miles (64.4 km) I reached the Westwood Spa Hotel, which is not far from Glasgow, and the VTL was still showing a respectable 56% charge level. With only 58 miles (93.3 km) to go to the next stop, I felt reassured by the VTL’s consistent performance throughout the journey. <\/p>\n\n

The second day started with a visit to the local Tesco supermarket in Carbrain, 6 miles (9.7 km) from my accommodation. The supermarket has plenty of space to park larger EVs, so it was a good choice. I used the VW e-charging station for 75 minutes, at a cost of \u00a343 (\u20ac50.00) – it was simple and straightforward to use as a single credit card swipe was all that was required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I covered the last 62 miles (99.8 km) without any problems and arrived on time, leaving enough time for a delicious dinner and a chilled beer to round off the exciting journey with the all-electric VTL VERSALIFT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

My conclusion<\/h2>\n\n

In summary, I successfully completed the journey with four stops. The total charging time of 260 minutes cost me \u00a3159 (\u20ac184.87). <\/p>\n\n

The e-vehicle offers excellent performance and comfort for long journeys, as well as being very well equipped with a user-friendly infotainment and satellite navigation system.
