The surprise was a success: 110 of the 154 PROFESSIONALS from MORGEN that Günter Vaalbrock trained came to throw him a surprise party.
After almost 45 years with the company, of which Günter Vaalbrock was responsible for training our industrial PROFIS von MORGEN at the Gescher plant for 21 years, he retired in December 2022. He handed over his role as trainer to Jan Schering.
Since then, 154 PROFESSIONALS from MORGEN in the fields of industrial mechanics, mechatronics, process mechanics for coating technology and technical product design have been trained in the training workshop, many of whom have subsequently passed their IHK examination with “very good”.
The big thank you at the end
His dealings with the PROFIS from MORGEN were always respectful and friendly. That’s why 110 of the 154 PROFIS from MORGEN set off to give Günter Vaalbrock an unforgettable farewell in February of this year. He knew that there would be a small celebration with the current PROFESSIONALS from MORGEN, but the fact that almost all of his PROFESSIONALS from MORGEN were coming left him speechless and he was deeply moved.
The training continues
Of course, Günter is not really thinking of “retiring”, his “training” continues: as a member of the IHK examination board and with his puppy “Fino”, who still has a lot to learn. At the end, Günter’s traditional cigar, which he always treats himself to on special occasions, was not to be missed.

Günter leaves behind big footprints
Since the fall of last year, Jan Schering has been familiarizing himself with the tasks of a trainer in the industrial sector in order to not only maintain the current standard of training at the site, but also to gear it towards the future.
Jan Schering has been working successfully at RUTHMANN since October 1, 2017 as production manager of the prefabrication/welding shop and has also been the team leader for vehicle preparation since August 1, 2018 – so he knows his way around the company very well.
“I am following in Günter Vaalbrock’s footsteps as a trainer in the commercial sector. It is an honor for me to accompany the PROFESSIONALS of TOMORROW. They are RUTHMANN’s future. I am looking forward to this task and to growing together with the young professionals,” says Jan Schering about the new challenge ahead of him.
Many thanks to Günter Vaalbrock for his tireless efforts and a warm welcome to Jan Schering as the new instructor in the commercial area.
